Beaches to explore around Perranuthone

With over 400 beaches in Cornwall you are really spoilt for choice, these are some of our favourite beaches up to 40 minutes away from our property.

Starting off with the beach that is closest to us just 10 minutes walk away you’ll find this wonderful beach which has beautiful soft sand perfect for making sandcastles and memories. There are lots of rock pools to explore. The water is perfectly calm though cold. The beach is also lifeguarded from 8th of July to the 3rd of September. It also has the Cabin Beach cafe just above it which dishes out mouthwatering food and drinksall day long and on some nights it also transforms into the Tipsy Crab Bistro which also has an array of heavenly meals to get your teeth into. Sennen

Next up is a beautiful beach that’s 30 minutes away. This beach is perfect for surfing, swimming and sunbathing, Sennen cove is a blue flag beach meaning its unspoiled and incredibly safe, with lifeguards being present from 1st April to the 29th of October surrounded by cliffs and grassland this beach is also perfect for walks and getting incredible shots like this. The village of Sennen is also beautiful with lots of pubs and restaurants to choose from. We particularly recommend the fish and chip shop along the sea front. This is the link from Chy An to Sennen

Portreath

Turn round a corner and you’ll see the absolute breathtaking blue flag beach of Portreath. 35 minutes away from our property it is a beautiful sight to behold fantastic for swimming, surfing, sunbathing and kite flying too. There is a lifegaurd service from the 13th of May to the 24 of September This beach even has some safe caves that you can explore. The craggy cliffs of the peninsular are perfect for cycling or hiking. The village has a rich history dating back to the bronze age and if the weather is against you there are plenty of things to do around the village including galleries, museums and cafe’s.This is the link to from Chy An to Portreath

Praa Sands

This beautiful beach is only a 10 minute drive away. with amazing golden sands and crystal clear blue waters it looks like you could be abroad with our next pick. Praa Sands is located between Mounts bay and the Lizard and is a popular pick with families. The third blue flag beach on our list has safe to swim waters and has a lifeguard service from 1st of April to the 29th of October. In addition.to swimming and sunbathing, why not have a go at windsurfing, kayaking and surfing there are plenty of surf schools around who will take surfers of any skill level. The beach is also a SSSI (a Sight of Special Scientific Interest) which means it’s home to many rare Plants and Animals.                  This is the link from Chy An to Praa Sands

Carbis Bay

The last on our list of must visit beaches in Cornwall is another Blue Flag beach, Carbis Bay. Known for it beautiful long beach, calm sea greenery and fabulous food and shops, Carbis Bay is the perfect place to experience the joys of Cornish life. The beach is sheltered by two headlands which make it perfect for relaxing or playing watersports on this beach. There are plenty of walks and cycle paths around so at this beautiful beach you could never get bored. It also has a fantastic restaurant called the Ugly Butterfly linked with the Carbis Bay Hotel which has food provided by the Great British Menu winner and Masterchef professional runner up Adam Handing.
